All Hands on Deck!

I was fortunate recently to spend a lovely summer afternoon on a boat tour of a local lake. It was so interesting to watch the crew work together as we departed on our journey and returned to the dock. They worked together seamlessly, and everyone knew their functions – including us, the passengers. It reminded me a lot of the HR Source team and our members. I like to think we also all work well together and do our respective parts. That’s why I’m making an all-hands-on-deck proclamation to help flood our open surveys with data (pun intended)!
Surveys currently open for participation:
2025 Illinois Non-Profit Survey
This survey collects compensation information for 116 non-profit positions. Data is reported by budget category, employment size, and service industry. Participants should be located in Illinois.
The Illinois Non-Profit Survey opened on August 20, 2024, is open for participation through October 4, and results will be published in January 2025. All participants receive a free copy of the results, regardless of HR Source membership status.
2025 Park and Recreation Compensation Survey
This survey collects compensation information for 84 positions with data reported by agency type, budget category, equalized assessed value (EAV), and geographic region. Participants should be in Illinois.
This survey opened on August 20, 2024, and is open for participation through October 4, 2024. Results will be published in January 2025. All participants receive a free copy of the results, regardless of HR Source membership status.
Participants in the 2025 Park and Recreation Compensation Survey also have the option to be included in the 2025 Park and Recreation Supplemental Report (PRSR). The supplemental report is an excel file of compensation data by agency allowing you to benchmark directly against other agencies who agree to participate and share their data. You can participate in both surveys using the same questionnaire.
The cost to be included in the 2025 Park and Recreation Supplemental Report (PRSR) is $199.

2024 Business Trends Survey
The survey reflects actual and projected business trends, including organizational challenges, staffing/hiring, retention, and pay strategies. Last year, top executives from 1,049 organizations participated in the survey, representing all 50 states.
This survey will be open from September 3, 2024, through October 4, 2024, with results due to be published in September 2024. Keep an eye out for an email with additional information.
2025 National Benefits Survey
This biennial benchmarking survey takes a comprehensive look at benefits including health and welfare benefits, retirement benefits, part-time benefits, and other miscellaneous benefits.
The participation window is September 10 through October 18, 2024. Both national and local results will be available in February 2025. Member participants receive a free copy of the national and local reports with participation.
