There’s a long-held belief that it’s risky and inappropriate for leaders to be friends with their employees. Potential bias, lack of objectivity, and favoritism are all cited as reasons for leaders to maintain appropriate distance from the people who work for them. Research and experience have shown that the rewards of friendship in the workplace may outweigh the risks … even for bosses and employees. This session will address those rewards as well as how to manage the risks.
